In their own words — what the Centre means to those who have been part of it.

I joined Grace Community Centre in 2011 as a young child. Looking back, I realise how much my life has been transformed through the love, care and support I received there. Grace became more than just a home — it became the place where I grew, discovered my potential and learned the values that continue to guide my life. One of the greatest gifts Grace gave me was the opportunity to pursue my education. At a time when I could not have imagined reaching this level, Grace believed in me and invested in my future. Today I am a university student, and I carry that achievement with deep gratitude. Beyond education, Grace nurtured me spiritually and taught me the importance of faith, integrity and perseverance. I am especially grateful to Archbishop Samuel Barasa for his vision, guidance and commitment to transforming the lives of vulnerable children. To everyone who supports Grace Community Centre — thank you for changing lives. I am living proof that your kindness and generosity create brighter futures. Grace will always hold a special place in my heart, and I will forever be proud to call it my home.

I appreciate all that the Centre has done for me from 2014 to 2026, and I look forward to even more. Thank you so much for standing with me — may God bless you all.

I came to Grace Community Centre in 2023, and up to 2026 it has been supportive of me and other people in the community. It has supported me and my dreams, because I wanted to become a good chef. My dreams are coming true because Grace Community Centre supported me in joining the school of catering at Dandora Greenlight.

It has been a home for me. I came with no vision and no dreams, and I was offered love, care and education from the age of nine. Now I am pursuing my career at college. Through Archbishop Samuel Barasa, Grace Community Centre has shaped me into who I am today.

I came to the Centre when I was young, from class one, and now I am in college studying food and beverage. For me, the Centre means family — a place where I belong, and my key to success.

You know what — I never knew that one day I’d have my studies done and enjoy all the privileges a child should have while growing up, but God did it through Grace Community Home. More blessings to my papa Dr. Samuel Chikamai for his continued support through my growing-up journey. He offered everything a child could ever want — emotionally, spiritually, and economically. He was there to support, advise, and pray for you. He was always there for me especially. If I were to repay him, a million dollars would not be enough — not to mention his workers. It was a good place indeed, and I’ve achieved through my college level and have something to do and put something on the table. To God be the glory, and may Grace Community Children’s Home and Centre live long.

Thank you very much for the love and care I have been given from Grace Community Centre. It has been a home for me, and a place where my dreams come to vision. I appreciate everything and every support given to me — may the Grace Community Centre founders and people live long. Thank you.
